John Gibbons Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for ADD-vance!!
St Albans resident John Gibbons is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise much needed funds for ADD-vance!
John Gibbons has been a supporter of our work at ADD-vance since we first met him 18 months ago and he will be attempting the climb from January 2nd – 10th 2012 to raise funds for the for ADD-vance and Cancer Research UK as John’s mother sadly died from cancer in January this year and the climb is timed to commemorate her death.
ADD-vance is a voluntary constituted organisation that supports and works with families of children who have Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and we are in great need of financial donations to support our work into the future.

Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania rising 19,340 feet above sea level is the tallest mountain in Africa. It is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, consists of three dormant volcanoes and it is also a World Heritage Site.
Climbing to the peak has certain dangers, some caused by the weather and the altitude. Climbers have lost their lives as a result of altitude sickness but thankfully this is rare though it is estimated only 60-70% of people make it to the top.
We do hope that you will give generously to support John in his climb and us in our work to support families of children who have Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD.
Thank you very much.
Update: John has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and is now safely back in the UK
We will add details of John’s trip when he has had time to catch his breath.
Many thanks for all of the donations and support for John.
